Courtney Loveless was born and raised in St Louis MO. She grew up in a very creative and musical family. Her father being a singer and an oil painter and her mother an interior decorator and pianist contributed greatly to her and her siblings flourishing in art and music. Singing and painting had always been a passion and love of Courtney’s. She grew up singing in church choirs and school chorales too shy to ever really let her voice be heard but too passionate about music to be uninvolved. Her talent eventually thrusted her into the limelight; forcing her to put coyness aside and share her gifts, unrestrained with the world. The Gospel, Jazz, R&B and Soul scenes opened up for her rich, soulful alto voice. While pursuing her degree in chemical engineering she began singing around the city at several local churches and clubs to help support herself. She also directed the Voice of Inspiration Gospel Choir at her University when she wasn’t at track and field practice or studying. After receiving her degree she earned a mentoring relationship under Ms. Anita Watkins Stevens and began to write her own music. She had always written poetry and writing music just seemed to come naturally to her. Courtney continues to work as an engineer managing a pilot plant of a local company. Her passion for art and music still burn as brightly as ever. She continues to write her own music and sing around the nation for different events. She also continues to paint for commissioned pieces, scientific publications and children’s books.
